2014 Ford Fiesta Owners Manual

2014 Ford Fiesta Owners Manual - Americans are simply beginning to overcome their dislike of small cars, and it's really models just like the Ford Fiesta which are on the leading edge of that alter in heart. In a couple of years, using its flamboyant, sporty look and zippy driving experience, the Fiesta has shown that small, inexpensive models have no need to be so soulless and appliance-like.

The Fiesta hasn't quite been a resounding sales success, but also for 2014 it's poised to win additional hearts--with a brand new face, a greater interior, the tech-forward MyFord Touch system, and 2 new engines, both offering improved performance.

This year's new grille brings the Fiesta in line with the remaining portion of the Ford lineup, and that we think that it gives the hatchback especially a bit added punch. Five-door hatchbacks are the sportier and better-looking of these two body styles, to most eyes, but there is however a four-door sedan inside lineup, too. The 5-door looks stylish as well as a trifle racy, with an urban-runabout element that had been missing from Ford's U.S. lineup, and this respect you mostly get exactly what the thing is that. With impressive steering and handling along with a nimble, maneuverable feel that's superior to most softened, numbed appliances its size, the Fiesta is securely around the fun-to-drive side on the ledger.

The 120-hp, 1.6-liter four returns because the base engine. For two,600 pounds, it's quick enough, especially if you receive the manual transmission and maintain the revs up; although we're not big fans from the PowerShift automatic transmission. The high-performance FIesta ST is totally new this coming year and, in overboost mode, pumps out 197 horsepower and 214 lb-ft from its 1.6-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine; it's mated merely to a six-speed manual gearbox and, with upgrades to braking, suspension, steering, and in some cases tires (summer performance), it's really a hoot to operate a vehicle and hits all the hot-hatch buttons. Later around the lineup is going to be accompanied by an EcoBoost 1.0-liter three-cylinder model that's perkier versus the base four while returning better mileage than it.

Especially considering this year's interior upgrades, the Fiesta constitutes a great first impression. It's got well-coordinated colors and textures inside, and will impress besides above its price class in the beginning look. Although it isn't really quite perfect; the base front seats usually are a little flat and unsupportive, back seats don't fold fully flat, along with the suspension can get on rough surfaces. A coarse-sounding engine can detract from base models, yet an audio Symposer from the ST performance model helps give you the right engine sound, when you want it. Nevertheless the driving position is fantastic it doesn't matter what the model, and also the available Recaros within the ST, there's enough support for demanding mountain roads or all-day cruising.

Base Fiesta S models tend to be quite basic, in spite of the spiced-up look, and their manual-winding windows and steel wheels with hubcaps betray some cost-cutting--although air con is included. But Fiesta SE models give a much more popular equipment, as being a perimeter self-protection system, upgraded cloth interior, and ambient lighting, while Titanium model includes upgraded Sony audio, along with a rearview camera system. Standard within the Titanium and entirely on the Fiesta SE and ST is MyFord Touch, Ford's advanced system for controlling audio, connectivity, and navigation functions using a touch-screen system, along with voice commands. While not everyone will enjoy the machine, it cleans the look and raises the ambiance.
